Silver Cuff 2025
Inspired by the work of Elsa Peretti and her devotion to material and craft, the Silver Cuff was produced as not only a piece of jewelry, but as a link between the material studies of the Aluminum Plate and the intimacy of an object like a Spoon.
Jewelry and Silverware both approach the human form with sensuality, The Spoon can be a driver for what keeps you alive, but the decadence of material like Silver and it’s form can shine through the primitive act of eating. The Silver Cuff affords space for my wrist bone, acting as a second skin, and throughout the day it warms to the temperature of my body. These are different relationships than human to human, this “Designed Object Intimacy” puts the Spoon or Cuff in a position of equity in our human-centric world, and this equity can lead to more complete and suitable systems of design as a whole.
